Are the trips suitable for non swimmers?
Yes, the trips ares suitable for non-swimmers. You can snorkel while wearing a life jacket, and our guides will take good care of you. If weather permits, when we arrive at Maya Bay a long tail boat is available to transfer customers and their bags to the beach. In low season, we usually have to get to the beach by the rear entrance to Maya Bay which involves a short swim and then climbing through a cave. We can kayak in bags and those people who can’t swim.

What is the weather like in low season?
Thailand weather is unpredictable from May to November. We have learnt there is no weather forecast you can 100% rely on.
The weather in Phi Phi is different from Phuket, and different again from Krabi. It actually rains less on Phi Phi Don and less again on Phi Phi Leh (Maya Bay) than it does in Phuket or in Krabi.
The weather is normally really good. It might rain most days in those months, but it is often hard and short. Because it is hot anyway, most people don’t really mind such rain showers. However maybe four times per year it will rain for 3-5 days straight. The problem with this is that you can’t predict when the big storms will happen.
As a guide, for the past two years, we have had to cancel approximately three trips per month due to bad weather in low season.
We do have cover if it rains and some of our favourite memories include swimming in Maya Bay in torrential rain.
If you come with us, and we have to cancel due to bad weather, we will try and reschedule your trip, or offer you a full refund.
Are the trips suitable for Children?
The Plankton trip is certainly suitable for children.
The Sleep Aboard trip is a different matter. To be honest, we prefer not to take children but do not want to discriminate against people with children who really want to come.
There are some safety issues you need to be aware of. In low season (May to November) waves can be rough and we may need to get to Maya Bay through a back entrance which will require swimming or kayaking and entering through a cave. This can be a bit scary for non-swimmers.
Also, you need to be aware that most of our customers are in their 20's and like to party, so it can get noisy.
If you are concerned that drinking and noise from partying may be a problem for you or your child, then the Sleep Aboard trip may not be for you.
